Shot this a few weeks ago, when I was still dependent of my wheelchair. Doing wheelies with it was awesome..

Merry Christmas!
I hope all of you out there are in good health and happy. -
Healing will go faster now!

I just got this limited edition 6 pack of Trappist beer Westvleteren 12 as a present. This beer, brewed in the Saint Sixtus abbey of Westvleteren is one of the most exclusive beers in the world, normally only for sale at the abbey itself. It has been awarded many times before as best beer in the world and will sure help me with keeping up a positive mood trough my revalidation.

September 2011 …
A lot has been going on in september, so much I didn’t even have the time or power to write / post anything…
First off I left Korea early, on september 7, because I had a lot of stuff I needed to get managed and school was about to start.
After I managed some stuff for school and moved to my new place I figured it was time to hit the road again. Since I was without a budget I decided to hitchhike to Paris and see what happened.
So I left Belgium again on september 13 with my buddy Zeger. It only took us an incredible 4 hours to hitchhike all the way to Paris. And even better, the man from our last ride, a chief of BASF from holland offered to drive us back to Ghent 3 days later when he was leaving Paris.
So after we arived we found a good youth hostel and went out to have fun in the city, hanging out at numerous parks and at the river, la Seine and we visited some musea.
So we got our easy ride out of Paris that thursday, back to Belgium! (I still have a lot of pictures from the paris trip that I’ll share with you later.)
During the night of Saturday 24, after all the fun in this September month, it turned into a disaster, the reason why I’m typing this report with one hand…
I climbed onto some roofs near my new place, to get a view of the city. Suddenly while standing on a hangar of an old factory I went straight trough it and fell 8 meters down onto the concrete. I broke both my ankles and lower legs and broke my left arm 3 times.
By now I’ve had surgery on all three of them and although there will be some permanent damage, the docters hope for a positive prognosis. All three surgeries went as planned and now it’s only a matter of time and patience. It might take me a year to be able to walk again.
Right now I’m in a lot of pain, but I try my best to stay optimistic and with the support of my friends, both local and international I feel like I can succeed in this. I smile and laugh a lot every day, because staying optimistic is the only way forward and out of this. Those who know me know I never give up.
Imagine no pain…

My Bike, my freedom

Today I finally went biking by the Han river and I wished I had done this earlier already. You can rent bikes for a day here for almost no money and drop them at any of those rental stalls. I explored a good 30 kilometers along the Han river today. The biking trails are very good and there is no better way to get a beautiful view on Seoul than from the side of the river.
I also saw a turtle swimming in the water:

The picture isn’t very clear, but it’s all I was able to make out of it before it swam away.
After my biking already made my day I stopped by at the Imax cinema in World cup stadium and got free tickets for the movie “Colombiana”.
What a great day!
(for some reason Tumblr makes my pictures less saturated than they are… If someone has an idea how to get them on here looking the same as the original file on my computer, please give me a shout.)
